The call from Swift took place on Saturday, June 15, after friends of Yonkers' Annie McMahon tweeted the star a video of the group having a dance party in her hospital room, asking Swift to contact the young woman.
McMahon, who has had two double lung transplants and is too sick for a third, is now in hospice care.
But that doesn't stop McMahon and her friends from rocking out to Swift's tunes every chance she feels well enough to do so.
In a tweet, her friends said her lifelong dream was "to meet Taylor."
Part of that dream came true when the call came on Saturday and the two chatted for 20 minutes.
“I was nervous going into it because what do you say to someone you look up to… It was like talking to someone I knew my whole life,” McMahon told CBS-TV.
McMahon added that she hopes to meet Swift one day.
Her father, John McMahon, tweeted the talk "gave Annie McMahon the medicine she needs to breathe another day and fight the fight. THANKS!"
Her "Swiftie" friends are happy too: "She’s so HAPPY! I’m so proud to be in this Swiftie community! 💞 you all amaze me! Love you all! Thank you @taylorswift13 for making her dream come true! You’re the best ever!"
